Potion Death's Door
Elixir of Life

Quoting from the Quick Token Reference entry for Fallen Star Mushroom:
when placed in the mouth of a dead comrade, this item restores the character to life with full HP; does not restore previously used spells, powers, or abilities; must be administered in the same room the character died; "feeding" a character this item requires a Standard Action [collect on use]
Have you looked it up in the TDb?
Please post TDb corrections/suggestions in this thread.

All of which puts said character at high risk for aspiration pneumonia.

Beats being dead though. ;)

I think it should be "planted" as opposed to placed in the mouth (although other places in a corpse might have better compost)

Well #1 I think pretty much ALL transmuted tokens sell at a loss compared to component values.

I'm by no means an expert but at one time it was VERY common to have players die on Nightmare level runs and there has been clamoring to bring back the harder runs. That would be one reason for the resurrection.

For high end boss encounters it'd be useful to resurrect mid-fight and help kill the boss.

I don't personally feel it's worth crafting but I will likely convert a small pile to have on hand

To be clear I am not planning on making any of these to re-sell, just for my own use. But the question is: do I keep three Mystic Mushrooms for use and sell the other ingredients for ~$30 or do I make one Fallen Star Mushroom? I'm just debating if the auto-heal is worth it. I'm inclined to make a handful to keep just in case, but keep even more of the regular Mystic Mushrooms and use the Fallen Star Mushrooms sparingly...

So there is a metric that happens to me and I'm sure some others and it goes like this "Is it really worth burning this X$ tokens to do that?"

The answer varies from person to person. For example, I'll hazzard a guess that when Raven contemplates this her deciding factor is the answer to "How much Full will it be?" If it will be fun I bet she goes for it almost every time.

I try and follow the same plan but add an addition layer of 'how much fun' or 'how long will the fun last'.

When evaluating the Death's Door line you have more metrics to work from because its weighed against the cost of a ticket price not just a fun factor or tactical advantage.

If the token helps you get the stamp you get a stamp in return so thats questionable trade off.

But if the token brings you back to life which allows you to get more stamps and more treasure and xp it could be very useful. Coming back to life in the last room is almost never useful.

Finally, coming back to life with full HPs versus comming back to life and using other scrolls or potions or heals to get fixed is really a debate that is solved at the moment. Outside of grind its very unlikely coming back with full hitpoints matters much on most normal runs but on a double down or an undermanned run its huge.

Long and disjointed way of saying "it all depends" :silly:

p.s. to add a little bit of math
Room 1 Token is worth 48$, so by room 7 its worth just under 7. Since the normal ones typically sell around $20 its not worth using it past room 4. This number gets worse when you use the transmuted version.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

if you want a chance at nightmare grind you will need to come back at full HP anything else is a wasted potion.

Thanks valetutto, it is helpful! I suspect I will keep a big stash of the basic Mystic Mushrooms for future use and create a much smaller selection of Fallen Star Mushrooms for those special death moments :)

I'd say auto-heal is worth it in combat, especially against a breath weapon or other AoE. Basically, any time you're worried that you won't survive a single hit. I'd never use it after combat. So you probably want one Fallen Star if you can afford it, and a few Mystics for more relaxed deaths.

Relaxed deaths sounds like a great life goal :)

Just remember to always wait till the monsters are done and the cleric/druid/paladin haven't yet gone before you pop. Or ask the healers if you can pop. If 3 people are almost dead they might be healing them instead of the dead person who pops up to 1hp.

Yeah LOL.

The only time I could ever see using a Falling Star would be in Grind or in a Double down run nightmare.

The only times I've had to use PoDD is when the DM errored and when runing on a difficulty not everyone in the party was tokened for.

They could be a decent bartering insurance if you are in a Pick-Up-group and wanting to try hardcore and are just being timid or maybe all but 1 person is geared for it.
