In what world is $45 worth it for a one time use token? That is the price for admission into TD, just die and then jump back in.

I'd guess the vast majority of people aren't going to be doing more than one run for each Dungeon (with many doing just one Dungeon total), so for those people it might be worth being able to come back to life at full HP to finish their Dungeons. Last year my group only did one of each Dungeon. Plus, there is the "overcoming the challenge" factor, even if people are going to do another run at the Dungeon, they might still be very motivated to successfully complete each attempt. $45 could be seen as a bargain considering Savior Stones have sold for way over $100. :)

That's not to say that I think $45 is where the price will end up, that is hard to say. For items like this, the first few to sell often sell for more than they do later in the year.
the thing is, it is the new version of the elixir of life..that is what those were selling for(and a lot more towards gencon)
i could seem them getting into the $28-30 range if the market is flooded, but the price will rise again once people cant make them anymore

i would only use these on TG and one other thing

I can guess what that one other thing is, Chad. :)

I think we need a group therapy session for victims of EN 429.

Regarding the Fallen Star Mushroom, I'm looking to the more experienced players on whether or not it is worth it to make some of these. If you assume that Golden Toadstool will be worth about $3/ea, and Mystic Mushroom about $10/ea, and Spotted Green Mushroom about $1/ea, and Alchemist's Ink about $5/ea, and finally gold at $0.02/ea, then the cost is $60. Now Dennis has already listed some potentially for sale for less than that, so perhaps some of my numbers are too high, but not by a bunch...

So wouldn't it be better to just eat a regular old Mystic Mushroom if you die and then heal back up with regular heal potions/scrolls/spells? Or is the idea that you can use this during combat instead of waiting until combat is over to revive and then heal?

Well #1 I think pretty much ALL transmuted tokens sell at a loss compared to component values.

I'm by no means an expert but at one time it was VERY common to have players die on Nightmare level runs and there has been clamoring to bring back the harder runs. That would be one reason for the resurrection.

For high end boss encounters it'd be useful to resurrect mid-fight and help kill the boss.

I don't personally feel it's worth crafting but I will likely convert a small pile to have on hand

Time can be your deadliest enemy in the dungeon. If you can combine two actions into one, it is (almost) always better to do so.
Have you looked it up in the TDb?
Please post TDb corrections/suggestions in this thread.

If I was in a nightmare grind I'd want one for sure.

The WYC group I was in last year included some highly experienced and very well geared players. And hardcore was about right for us. 7 of 10 survived, but some of us barely staggered out.

Of course it's just possible that incongnito and Raven were gunning for Laz.... ;)

So yeah, how can you "eat" a mushroom when you are dead?

Effects like these in the dungeon require another living player to take a standard action to administer them to you.
